Jude Kalman

Founder and Creative Director, Little Drum Pictures

Jude Kalman is an independent filmmaker from the Gold Coast, Australia, whose passion lies in creating content that matters. As the founder, owner, and operator of Little Drum Pictures, she is dedicated to reshaping how the world engages with charities and social enterprises, helping them tell stories that make a difference—for people and the planet.

Her documentaries have earned national and international recognition, featuring on Channel Nine, at the Gold Coast Film Festival, and globally at the LAMPA International Film Festival (Russia), Yofi Film Festival (USA), Poe Film Festival (USA), and Tokyo International Short Film Festival (Japan).

Jude began her career at the award-winning agency Ravel (formerly Fotomedia) in 2007, where she honed her craft, expanded her skill set, and mastered delivering exceptional multimedia and film content across multiple platforms and audiences.

In founding Little Drum Pictures (formerly FishFilms), Jude shifted her focus to amplifying the stories of charities, social enterprises, and not-for-profits. With creative and strategic leadership, she produces compelling multiscreen content to support organizations in making the world a better place.

In 2021, her micro-short Lessons received multiple awards, including:

Best Female Director at the Tokyo International Short Film Festival (Japan).

Best Micro Film at the Independent Shorts Awards (USA).

Best Documentary Film at the Poe Film Festival (USA).

Award People’s Choice Yofi Film Festival (USA) for the documentary Uncontained Love: Love > Fear (produced on a self-funded trip to Nigeria).

Best Short Documentary for “Mission: Educate” LAMPA Film Festival · Oct 2019

In 2020, she was invited to the United Nations’ 58th Commission for Social Development in New York to present her film about Mission Educate and discuss “Social Impact Films as a Means to Promoting Inclusion.” Later that year, she spoke at the United Nations in Geneva about her work with Nice Coffee Co., which won the Special Prize for Education at the LAMPA Film Festival.
