Red Dust Challenge – Feature-length Documentary,
A team of experienced disaster response volunteers, powered by mateship and determination, ride bicycles across the Simpson Desert to raise money for Australian charity Global Care, while lockdowns threaten to derail their adventure.
In 2021, Global Care Australia celebrated its 25 years of service undertaking projects for disaster relief and community resilience, in over 94 locations across Australia. Produced and directed by award-winning filmmaker Jude Kalman of Little Drum Pictures during the 2021 and 2022 COVID pandemic, travel restrictions limited the filming of Global Care initiatives to Queensland locations.
It is a story of resilience when the going gets tough; mates helping mates across the harsh landscape of the Simpson Desert and in communities throughout Australia.
